Rainy days! Happy Wednesday

Hello all.... It has been about 9 months since I posted and alot has happened. I guess that is the good thing to waiting to post for a while... you have something to write about. Well, JW came home in April for his Birthday... Big 21 this year, wow..I don't know where the time has gone. Then in June, the 22cnd to be exact, some idiot ran into our house and thankfully no one was hurt. He was a drunk driver and led to the remodel of our front porch. I really liked it just the way it was.

We found out in August that JW is going to be deploying in December, and I am not at all happy about that but it is what he wanted and has enlisted to do so there isnt much this Mom can do about it. We always raise our kids to keep them safe and this is so far out of our comfort zone it isnt even funny. Just keeping the faith that all will be ok and his 6 months over there will go fast and be very uneventful. He came home for Devon's Birthday which was really nice. It will not be the same with him not being home for Thanksgiving and Christmas though. But we have been very fortunate to have him home the last couple of years for Christmas. So I can't complain too much I guess. There are Mom's out there who havent seen their Airman for a year or more and I must say my hat is off to you because I don't know if I could do it or not.

For Devon's Birthday, big "14" this year, we went to Kings Island for the day! That was fun. They have the Fear Fest for Halloween. We had loads of fun.

Now we are planning to go to OK to have Thanksgiving with JW since he wont be home again before he deploys. Not sure which days we are going to be able to go yet but plans are in the works.

That is about all that has been happening. We don't lead very exciting lives around here. Hope anyone who reads this is doing well!

Hugs to all!
Love,
Kim

OK, I am really slacking!!!

Here we are in the throes of winter!!  YUCK!!  all I wanted was for it to snow on Christmas and NOPE, no snow.  Here it is January 14th and boy are we in for some CHILLY weather tomorrow.  Not not chilly, downright freezing.  Weather man says it is supposed to be a high of 5 tomorrow and a low of -something or other.  With wind chills at 20 below.  I didnt ask to live in Alaska, just for a little snow.  Didnt think that was too much to ask.  I have been making lots of new friends on power surge who I adore, along with my long time family of AF Mom's and Dads.  Don't know what I would do without all of you guys.  We are planning our yearly adventure to Gatlinburg and I am so excited.  I already have some cabins picked out for us to choose from.  We always go over spring break because it falls on our anniversary.  The first time we went was 7 years ago and I have to tell ya, it is Heaven on Earth for me in every sense!  I just love it there, something about the fresh, crisp mountain air that really grounds me.  Backing up a bit,  JW came in for Thanksgiving and suprised me!  It seems other family members knew but not dear old mom!  It was great.  Then he came home again for Christmas and it was wonderful.  He spent more time with us than out running around and it was GREAT!  I can only hope he realizes how much it meant for him to be home with us!  That was the best Christmas present I could have asked for.

I am not at the salon so much anymore..... We had to get rid of the tanning beds so there really isnt a reason for me to hang around down there so much.  I truly am enjoying being a domesticated house-wife for a change though but am starting to get a little bored.  Have been thinking about going into Medical Transcription for some extra income as I love to type!  Have also thought about Floral Design.  I know you are thinking these two things couldnt be farther apart, I guess I am just trying to figure out what I want to be when I grow up!

I got a new Camera for Christmas and as soon as I figure out how to get the pictures from there to here, I'll post some:)  Hope everyone has a great day and may God Bless all of you!

Toodles,

Kim
